Enforce lockdown or we will, Patna HC tells Bihar govt | India News

PATNA: The Patna HC on Monday came down heavily on the Nitish Kumar government for failing to control the Covid situation in Bihar and also commented that “everything is an eyewash”.
A division bench of Justices Chakradhari Sharan Singh and Mohit Kumar Shah asked advocate general Lalit Kishore to talk to the CM as a complete lockdown is urgently needed. The bench said that the state government must either declare a lockdown or it will have to pass an appropriate order. It directed Kishore to inform the court about the government’s decision on Tuesday. “There is no action plan with you. Whatever plan you have submitted, it’s not up to the mark and no effective steps have been taken,” the bench observed.
“Everything is an eyewash. You said two pressureswing absorption plants for oxygen generation are working, but report says they are not. Despite repeated orders, you are not doing anything,” the court commented, observing that there is no advisory committee of experts with the state government yet even after it ordered to form one.
