Jammu and Kashmir fires tainted DSP in ‘interest of security’ | India News

Davinder Singh

SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir lieutenant governor Manoj Sinha sacked deputy superintendent of the J&K police Davinder Singh and two teachers — Bashir Ahmad Shaikh and Mohamed Yousuf Ganie — on Thursday in the “interest of the security of the state”. “The LG is satisfied after considering the facts and circumstances of the case… that the activities of Davinder Singh, under suspension DSP, are such as to warrant his dismissal from service (sic),” the order read.
Singh was arrested in January last year for ferrying two alleged Hizb-ul-Mujahideen terrorists in a vehicle on the Srinagar-Jammu highway. He was suspended soon after his arrest.
